Good morning friends! Today I’m gonna start my task no.2. From Kasargodu to.. sorry from Kanyakumari we are gonna start our ride. Kanyakumari to Kasargodu. So now I’m at Kanyakumari. In our background you could see my bike. I was staying in a small hotel room and now I’m getting ready to leave. So I’m preparing my bike and packing my bags. Then we will start our ride from Kanyakumari to Kasargod. To my bike… I just added this baggage carrier. I bought this from the same store of Decathlon. It’s not actually the right one for this. But by adding two extra boots, this is somehow fitted into it. Just this portion was fitted into it properly. So I gave two boots. Or else, it would have made conflicts to the brake cable. Here, I should give some more distance and make the screw large and tight, and set it properly. So those are the things that I additionally gave. Now I’m gonna set my bag. These are the pair that I bought recently. It costed around Rs.1500. From Decathlon’s store. This can be placed on the bike, just the way it is, to the back frame. It has a hook here which can be buckled to the back frame. And it is also very easy to take it back from the frame. We can set it like this. And that’s all to do. There it is set! Then there is a small bag to keep in the front. I bought this a few days ago. It can be fitted into this area. This has a band, which is sticker type, that could be stuck around. And that’s done! We could keep our mobile phones, wallets, small cameras etcetera. And in this if we keep our mobile phones, it’s easy to check on GPS and calls. So these are the two bags that I have for now. Almost everything fit into these. And then I have a laptop bag. These are the three bags that I carry on this bike. So before packing everything, there is one more thing to do. On my way here, that is, when I left home, on the way, … a few items, for immediate needs, were bought: a speedometer, brake pad, and a small hand pump. … … … … So now, I’m gonna change these brake pads. It’s rate is Rs.150. So due to the weight of the luggage, after a maximum of 600 km these brake pads must be changed. So is the tyre. A maximum of 1000 km. If it is too heavy, the luggage, then 1000 km is also hard to be covered. But at the most, 600-700 km can be covered easily. So now I’m all set. All the bags are packed. Now after vacating the room, we can go to our starting point. This is where I stayed yesterday. It’s like a small villa type lodging area with low rate. So when I told them that I’m a cyclist, getting ready for an all Kerala ride, and want to rest for a day, they gave me a less expensive room. He himself told me not to leave the bike outside, and keep it safely inside the room. So, now we can see the beauty of Kanyakumari.. before that I wanna grab something to eat. After checking out and giving back the keys, and enjoying the scenic beauty here, we can start our ride from here. And that’s why I stayed here yesterday. So after having my food, I’m gonna start my ride. Actually, from home, I reached Kanyakumari… from home to Ernakulam I rode on my bike. From there again another 60 km I rode. Around 140 km, I rode by myself on the bike. After that I met a truck driver, a young man. So he dropped me at Trivandrum. Then, from there, after staying at my friend’s hostel I started again on my bike to Kanyakumari. It was about 100 km from there. So now we have reached Kanyakumari. Our bike is all set to go. Everything is ready now. So now we are in front of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Gandhi Mandapam. We are starting our ride from here. Eventhough Kanyakumari is a part of Tamil Nadu, I decided to start the ride from here as it is an end part of India, or as a beginning point I’m starting this. After completing all Kerala and then moving to all India, it will be like from Kanyakumari to all other parts of India. So I want this to be in that way. The task that I’m gonna do right now is an all Kerala ride, that is, from Kanyakumari to Kasargodu. So we are starting. I need support from all of you. So we are about to start. But before that we have to reset our speedometer. From this it should be set to zero. One more thing in this is that… this should be correct: the tyre size 700×32 is the tyre size. So the same thing is set to the speedometer. We can change accordingly in this.. So whatever the tyre size is it could be set into it. I’m setting it to 700×32. It is set and click OK. So we reset everything. It is connected via Bluetooth. A wireless speedometer. … So we are starting ! Bike is ready. The first kilometre So, from here I’m heading straight to Trivandrum. From here, it’s around 100 km. It’s 12 o’clock now. In Trivandrum, I have a friend , Nitheesh, who has a PG. So I was staying there before coming to Kanyakumari. After coming here, I took a room and stayed. So now again we are going to Nitheesh’s place. Once more, I have to trouble him. Today early in the morning, I should have started the ride according to my palns. But I told you early, bed or mattresses may not be available in the upcoming days. So when I got it for now, I just utilized it the maximum. I slept very well. I woke early but didn’t get up as I was too lazy. Without making it too hurry, if I’m riding like this, peacefully and slowly, by taking sufficient food and water and in a good way taking enough rest ride slowly like this, at any cost in a day, I could ride more than 100 km easily. When I was coming to Kanyakumari, I was in a hurry. I rode 150 km… first around 140 km and then from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari a 100 km continuously. Because like the same way, I was late. Instead of 4 o’clock, I left the place at 6:30 PM. Then, when I felt too tired and sleepy, and decided to take a room. Thinking of this, I rode fast and continuously without rest. But the problem in that is that when the muscles become too tight for the next two days, it will be like that only. So it will affect the upcoming rides. So maximum, without strain if we are able to do this there won’t be any problem. A lady is serving something there. It’s in a pot. It could be butter milk. It’s written all over in Tamil. What is this? Lady: It’s raggie. It’s so cool. A Tamil Nadu special With pickles After this, I have to go and find a good place to eat food. By the time, I’ll edit my videos and upload them. Rest of the videos will be soon in the next episode. Actually, the one mixed was raggie Raggie, butter milk and chopped onion. With pickles. So for now, I don’t wanna eat anything more. I’m almost full. After editing the videos and uploading will take some time. So I’ll go to some nice restaurant and wait until I starve, have food, and leave. I ate this when I was a kid. The lady just added raggie, buttermilk and a few other things and gave it to me. Also with some pickles and fried chillies. I feel like I ate a whole meal. It was just Rs.20. So experimenting new things like this, if I wanna keep moving this vehicle, I need full support from all of you. So we are riding via Nagarkovil The rest, after getting rid of my tiredness, I’ll come with a new episode.
