This was a great great meet. The MAAC
meets are all about place, it’s all about points and we scored a lot of points. Our
men got fifth, which is remarkable. Our women got six in a very competitive
league. Again the individual performances were phenomenal, but it’s
all about team and the relays really pull it together at the end. The 4×8 the
men 4×8 got in second without arguably our best leg Andrew Burns, who made
finals in the open 8, got two IC4 marks along the way. Debbie Boerke went in the intermediate hurdles. Danisha Craig podium in the 400. I feel like I’m gonna forget. There was just so
many highlights. Just really phenomenal finish to our season.
Couldn’t be happier. Today for the men’s team was great. We had a lot of
qualifiers for final events today and a lot of guys scored multiple events
across the board. Even yesterday we had 3k steeple guys score for us.
We had scores in multiple relays and multiple individual performances. Even if
they didn’t score they had personal bests. So, today was a great day overall
for the men. A lot better than we expected coming in. I’m happy how
everyone did it was it was a great two days overall. Four years went by
really fast. There’s been times where I couldn’t even run the 400 because I
didn’t have the right time. So, being able to battle, being able to stand up on the
podium, was such a great accomplishment for myself. I ran times I don’t think I
ever would have been able to run before definitely coming in as a freshman. I’m
just ecstatic. I’m just happy. I’m not even sad, I don’t think I want to cry. I’m just happy. This meet really showed the strength to our program
throughout the year from August till now. We’ve just been setting records and
getting ECAC qualifiers each and every week. It feels like every week we do
something special and it there hasn’t been one meet where we haven’t had one
highlight. Every single week the women have just stepped up and raised the bar.
We have a great senior class leaving, but we have a huge core coming back in. The future is so bright. It’s just been a remarkable season. The best one of my
20-plus years over the program.
