If you’ve been watching the channel over the past year you know that I’ve progressed a lot in my technical abilities But the number one thing that is still killing me is the jumps. So the plan for today is to get on one of these Specialized downhill bikes, get a full face helmet and just lap the park over and over You got two chambers, so one’s the high speed one’s the low speed ok so It mean you get really good response on the braking bumps a little bit more comfortable knowing that it will take your big hits a Lot better. God I can’t wait to see what it actually feels like for the downhill bike It’s going to be interesting I’ve never ridden one before. Pretty good perfect yep. Alright I’m all set up now time to get the lift ticket So this is the specialized demo. It’s got a fox 40 on it And it’s got the ohlins Spring on the Back Shimano Saint Brakes some Gx Stuff the smallest cassette I’ve ever seen should be a fun ride Be pretty surprised today if anyone recognizes me *thanks* Hey, there’s no dropper post on this bike what the hell is going on? So right now the plan is to lap B line as Much as I can until I feel like I’ve got it down then move on to crank it up and Just keep progressing On and on and on. Yeah downhill bike is pretty cool Ok that felt pretty good – smooth and natural so first run Not really feeling much more comfortable the bike feels pretty good. I think that’s kind of the problem when I Lose control, I’m not pre-loaded. I’m not bunny hopping, I’m just kind of getting launched That’s the theory so far We’re going to crank it up again. Steven is going to follow me, going to critique me, give me some pointers Didn’t feel good on that at all. I would actually make some progress Nope, just as scary as ever There’s more to the day the day is not over At least the line’s short. So it’s 3:30 right now the bike doesn’t have to be back until 8:00 So I have a chance. It’s still possible that I could get comfortable and hit a couple of these jumps I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s going to happen. Hey, we’ll see Kind of got that I still braked. I still wussed out. I got that one This is always the easy flat one. Oh yeah, that felt okay. Felt good I always get that one So far so good, oh, buck ya forward – eh I got it Got it. Scariest one. Full speed. Kinda got it. Felt really good on that one the first time got pointed the right direction Not enough speed felt natural Felt good. Also good Not quite, but pretty good Our 900th lap on crank it up. All right this hasn’t been the best for me, but Mmm, kind of got it That felt good This is also scary There we go. Bunny hopping Not bad. Funky Really good on that one. It’s like my favorite jump Okay, confidence feeling pretty good. Got JT In front of me. Hate that one – my nemesis Go for it Sam go nice good stuff dude There we go think that was the first time I hit that one smooth Dah! Just..ughh.. Pre-loaded too early, maybe I don’t know Dum dum Duuum Let’s do it boys. I am feeling more confident even if some of them I don’t hit and don’t get I do feel like I have progressed That’s all I wanted to do Was to feel like I wasn’t just getting shot off the bike every single time Yeah, I think getting the weight forward seems to be a little key There we go that one is always nice to me nice smooth pop practice practice practice So that was my last lap on crank it up, and I’m actually feeling pretty good after you know before lunch I was feeling pretty crappy like I wasn’t getting anything down and steven helped me through it Yeah, we did about 20 laps probably we’ll have to check the tape and see how many laps it is and yes I’m wearing glasses with my full face helmet, so I don’t I don’t care about fashion It doesn’t matter I also met JT And Sam here couple of fans of the channel they spotted me even in my full face helmet and my non normal bike So now it’s time for angry pirate. We’re going to do a victory lap and call it a day because my hands are probably toast big-time technical on the downhill bike as the victory lap Why not do a little bit of A-line? haha Just to blow up my confidence Oh shit Maybe I shouldn’t have ridden this trail. And just know that I have not actually made any kind of progression at all.
