Hello community my name is PlayerIGN, This is a guide and kind of my own extension on WackyJacky’s Crouch-Jumping guide. I’l have a list of timestamps on the screen to give you guys a general idea of what I will be covering If you don’t know what Crouch-Jumping means in PUBG, when the game first came out, we didn’t have a vaulting system so crouch jumping, which is exactly what it sounds like, was a means of getting over certain objects. Ever since PUBG removed this mechanic for vaulting, it’s been forgotten or at least not thought to be as effective, or easy to do anymore. But I’m here to prove that crouch jumping is still very viable and fairly easy to do and in some situations even more useful than the old one. so first, HOW TO PERFORM THE CROUCH JUMP You want to set a dedicated key to the Jump Only option. This is extremely important, because the Vaulting part messes the crouch-jump up and makes it even more difficult to do. The action combination to jump out of a window is
[sprint+Jump only+crouch+keep sprinting] The reason for why you need to keep sprinting is because without the second sprint you would be performing a different trick, also known as window crouch.
[sprint+Jump only+crouch] Which can be extremely powerful for catching people off guard, WHY IT’S FASTER THAN VAULTING WackyJacky actually covered this and explained that Window Jumping is not any faster than vaulting, But having done several tests, I came to the conclusion that the speed is pretty much the same. However, what I felt was left out was the fact that crouch jumping exposes less of your body, while also getting your head out of the window frame faster than normal. And on top of that, you land a tad bit farther than you usually do from normally vaulting, now this might not seem all that impactful. But imagine if there was a random wall or even a world object that you would have to to vault over again just to continue looting or in some worse situations running from an enemy. That 1-2 seconds wasted vaulting again could cost you the game especially in an extremely unforgiving one like PUBG. WHY THIS DOESN’T REPLACE VAULTING However, this cool ability isn’t without its down-side. First, you can only perform this when you have enough space to build enough forward momentum, for a high jump. This also means that you can not do this reliably on tight corners. And ofcourse its effective height can only be used for windows that are up to around waist level. Exiting windows from the inside is often easy to do, but entering in depends on the window’s position. And not only that, vaulting is still needed to traverse certain pathways. That window jumping can’rt normally do. And on a side note, in my opinion, it kinda makes pubg more fun to play. Since you at least now feel like you’re maneuvering faster Especially those players that enjoys PUBG’s harcore gunplay, but feels that the movement is a bit awkward. and you’re rewarded for executing well timing on this skill. since, the better the timing– the smoother the transition (and speed). It also fixes those awkward moments when you feel like you can’t peak past a window frame, while also putting you at more risk for when you do use this. conserving the iconic PUBG idea that there are risks in everything you do that some hardcore players prefer. And when you’re not using this to window crouch, you still need some running space to jump over a window, which creates noise. Well that’s all for now.
